Unfortunately, visual disturbances such as
astigmatism, strabismus, myopia, hypermetropia affect many children. The need
to wear glasses becomes, for many, a real challenge.
However, children's view must be preserved and corrected. Therefore, the right choice of the frame, which is to please the child but also comfortable and durable in same time, remains the main task of the parents.
1. The frame, first of all, must be comfortable. The glasses should be positioned no more than the eyebrow line, and their lower part should not sit on the cheeks when the child laughs. The frame should not be wider or narrower than the face. The frame should be perfectly attached to the nose.
2. Draw attention to the arms - they do not have to press, jump or sink into the ears. To avoid these unpleasant aspects, some manufacturers cover the glasses with soft special cases.
3. The material of frames must be durable. It can be plastic, stainless steel, titanium. For babies, the frames can be made of silicone, which is the safest material in terms of trauma. It should be noted, that in the case of visual impairments, only a certain type of frame is used. For example, in the case of astigmatism, the glasses are provided with special cylindrical or cylindrical-spherical lenses, for which the full frames fit best.
4. Kids must like their frame glasses! The "unsightly" glasses, in the child's opinion, can reduce self-confidence, causing his refusal to wear a fact that could then lead to aggravation of the disease.
